Within These Walls

Derek James, or Baby Brother Beaky, is my adopted little brother. We met many years ago in hospital, and adopted each other in there. For many years, we have been there for each other, though we don’t get to see each other more than once, or twice a year. I know that I only have to pick up the phone, and he can get me through any crisis. I do the same for him. I wrote Within These Walls, for him, and his then wife, Lisa. Sadly their marriage didn’t work out, but both partners have been able to move on and rebuild their lives. Since I am friends with both of them, I saw no reason to leave this poem out of my Personalised collection. If you would like a special poem for someone who is about to tie the knot, why not have me write it for you.

Within These Walls.
By Amanda Jay Clark.

Within these walls, lives love.
Two hearts beating as one.
A shelter from every danger,
With you to depend upon.

Within these walls, lives romance.
Sanity in a world gone mad.
Where we live in perfect harmony,
Awaiting good times to be had.

These walls hold our sacred secrets,
Protect our every dream.
Holds the solution to all our troubles,
No matter how bad they may seem.

These walls keep our hope for the future,
Safe from the world outside.
No sorrow can enter our front door,
It’s our special place to hide.

These walls are our very foundation.
And no matter what we do,
As long as we face it together,
Love will always win through.

Within these walls, lives my love.
And wherever I may roam,
Your love travels safely with me,
Till I bring it home sweet home.
