So Much For Staying Single
Go for it girls!!! How many of you men, on leap year day, spend the day in terror just in case your lady proposes to you? I’ll bet that you make any excuse not to see her on that day. Or, are you one of the men who hopes that his girlfriend will propose because it will save you from feeling rejected if she turns you down? Maybe you are hoping that she will propose just so that you can turn her down. Who knows! Which ever, happy leap year day. Let me know how it turned out for you.

Single.

After seeing what
happened to my friends,
I had made up my mind to stay single.
I’d flirt, and play the field,
Go to parties, and generally mingle.
But I wouldn’t get caught in a romantic web,
Or let myself get bitten by the love bug.
Dancing would be allowed,
He could kiss me and give me a hug.
But he could never own my heart,
Any more than he could own my soul,
He could never control my body,
Or any part of me on the whole.
Then you walked into my life!
Turned my whole world upside down.
At first glance you looked like an idiot,
A real Jack-the-lad about town.
But after a while I found,
You were sweet and rather shy.
I first warned myself not to fall,
Then I found myself asking why?
I wasn’t sure how you were feeling.
Neither one of us had ever said.
At least not until after the first time,
We ended up in my bed.
I still tried to fight my emotions,
Told myself, this isn’t real.
It’s just an infatuation,
That it’s just your sex appeal.
But the harder I tried to fight it,
The deeper in love I fell.
You were winning and I was losing.
I was completely under your spell.
It was love then, I couldn’t deny it.
And a friendship, firm and true.
But it still came as a huge shock,
When I heard myself proposing to you!
It was a bigger shock when you said, yes.
That you loved me in every way.
So much for staying single.
We’re saying, "I do," today.
