Something About You

This is for my friend, Dawn, who eats, sleeps, breaths, and lives, Barry Manilow. But, when you ask her why, she says that she doesn’t know. "There’s just something about him." He gets her in such a state, that we tease her, and tell her that her heart only races, and she only gets all sweaty because, she is allergic to him, and should give him up. But Dawn, ever faithful to her singing idol, says she could give up breathing easier than she could give up Barry Manilow. Is there someone who leaves you feeling this way? Why not tell me about it, and I’ll write you a poem about your idol.

Something About You.
By Amanda Jay Clark.

Something about you bothers me.
I can’t say just how, or what.
But there has to be a reason.
Is it something that you’ve got?
I can’t put my finger on it,
I can’t say just why it is,
But whenever I see you smiling,
You leave me in a tizz.
Something about you annoys me.
Drives me crazy. That’s not fair.
But what bothers me even more,
Is when there’s no sign of you there.
It’s something about the little things,
They leave me weak, like the flu.
I sweat and my heart really races,
Or am I allergic to you?
Something about you bothers me,
So I asked the good Lord above.
I don’t like the answer he gave me.
He said that the something, was love.
