Holiday Romance

For most single people, it happens every year. That great holiday romance. To be honest, it has never happened to me, but maybe one day. Other people have told me all about their brief encounters, which is where I got the idea to write this poem, though it’s not anyone’s story in particular. If you have a holiday romance that you would like to recapture, why not let me write a poem about it for you. e-mail me for more details.

Holiday Romance.
By Amanda Jay Clark.

I’m only two weeks away from Hawaii,
And sun kissed golden sand.
Where the warmth can caress my body,
And a stranger can take my hand.

I’m only one week away from paradise.
And romance is high on my list.
I want a tall, dark handsome Adonis.
I want to be affectionately kissed.

The plane should land any minute.
I can feel the love in air.
There’s a holiday romance waiting for me,
On the tropical island somewhere.

There he is, good lord, he’s stunning.
And he’s looking directly at me.
His smile is brighter than sunshine,
The dazzle makes it hard to see.

"Please may I have this dance?"
He asked in the dreamiest voice.
"Of course you may" I answered.
I simply had no other choice.

His touch as we swayed to the music,
Made me quiver with total rapture.
And when he pulled me close for a kiss,
There was only my heart left to capture.

When my heart was no longer mine,
I was completely under his spell.
I was in love, and no turning back.
That’s how heavy I fell.

At the end of the dance, he suggested,
We should both take a walk on the beach,
There, he started to undress me.
Love making was now within reach.

His kisses were the strongest ever,
To be placed upon my lips.
Passions increased to volcanic,
When I wrapped my legs tight round his hips.

There was no need for music for this dance.
The rhythm and beat was our own.
I truly believed at that moment,
I would never again be alone.

When our passion was spent for the first time,
We walked further along on the shore.
But we were so in love by that time,
We needed to make love all the more.

He walked me back to my hotel suite,
Our minds filled with just one thought,
To get down to more serious passion,
Roll around on the bed and cavort.

When the sun came up in the morning,
Our bodied were still joined together.
And the way that we felt at that moment,
We thought we’d be that way forever.

After two weeks of love it was over.
All good things come to an end.
I won’t be in love when the plane lands,
He wont even be my friend.

In the taxi home from the airport,
I could barely remember his name.
Though he gave me such wonderful memories,
Now I’m home, I don’t feel the same.

I miss the sunshine and tropical drinks,
Now I’m back to the rain and warm beer,
But I’m not down or broken hearted,
I can go back again next year!
