Name: Lydia Alsibade. She introduces herself as Lydia to everyone, but some of her closer friends call her Lyd. Occasionally [rarely] Lyddie.

Age/D.O.B/P.O.B: She's 17 years old, making her a Junior at Whispers Academy. Born April 22nd in Chicago, Illinois.

Key Points: Sweetheart! She's one of those girls that loves people and loves to help. She doesn't judge and she doesn't patronise. She has been taking dance lessons for the past twelve years of her life and she's pretty damn good at it. She's been a dancer in a few minor touring Broadway shows, mainly doing jazz and swing numbers. Her specialty, however, is ballet and she's currently working her ass off to be in a New York ballet. She's also something of an artist. She sketches people all the time. She's never had a lesson, but she loves it all the same.

Magic: Lydia has an unusual form of healing magic. Her magic basically makes people feel better. When someone is feeling any extreme negative emotion she can gently reach out and touch them with their magic and they'll begin to calm them down. However, since she hates forcing her magic on people and she doesn't have much control over it yet, her magic is easily repelled. I guess some people just like to be sad? She's just beginning to learn to control her magic, so when Lydia walks in a room it almost seems like the mood in the entire room has lifted. She also knows how to make minor pains go away, but she hasn't yet learned to eliminate the source of the problem.

Family: Parents- Noah and Marie. They've been divoriced since Lydia was five. Marie moved to California shortly after the divorice while Noah, Lydia and her brothers stayed in Chicago. Lydia went to visit her mother once when she was ten, and that was the most recent time they've seen eachother. It's not that things are bitter between Noah and Marie, they just need to be away from eachother.

Father- Noah is the owner of a huge record producing company. Lydia loves her father soso much and would do anything for him. He's really chill most of the time, but knows when to put his foot down and be a parent. Lydia and her father get along great and talk about practically everything.

Mother- Lydia and Marie have an odd relationship. They haven't seen eachother for seven years, and they've grown farther and farther apart since the divorice. Lydia hardly knows anything about her mother, and her mother doesn't know very much about her daughter. However, Marie is the one Lydia will call at one in the morning, crying. And that's actually happened quite a few times. Lyd really does admire her mother, she just... doesn't know her.

Brothers- Evan (21) and Shawn (14). Lydia loves her brothers to death, basically. Evan is the brother that she can talk to about everything in the world. I'm not even kidding when I say they tell eachother everything. If Lydia wants to kill someone, Evan knows. If Evan lays someone, Lydia knows. And it would seem kind of disgusting to know everything about your sibling, but that's just how they roll.

Shawn adores Lydia. He just really, really loves her, basically. If Shawn has a problem, Lydia is the first one he'll go to for help. Lydia knows everything about him, but he doesn't know nearly as much about her as Evan does, because um, can you say traumatizing? But Lydia loves him and he loves her and it's that really cute "omgsisterlove" kind of love. Shawn equals adorable.

Appearance:
Hair- Lydia has beautiful hair. It's really dark brown and it falls to about the middle of her back. It is straight. It neverever curls no matter how hard she tries, but she likes it straight so it's all good. She constantly plays with her hair out of habit. She fiddles with the tips when she's nervous or uncomfortable. She braids some of her hair when she's thinking and she's constantly running her fingers through it no matter what she's feeling. It is usually always tied up in a messy ponytail/bun. Lyd pwns the messyhair look.

Eyes- Her eyes are a fairly nondescript green-gray color. They're a bit on the large side when put in proportion with the rest of her face, but they really do suit her. Her eyes add to her innocent, girlish look. -But- when she gets angry, her eyes can become really, really intense and cold. And seeing that look come from Lydia just kills, basically.

Features- In a word, girlish. Lydia is one of those girls who can pull off looking a lot younger than she really is, which was something she absolutely hated when she was in that I-want-to-grow-up stage. But now she's learned to accept it. Lydia actually sort of likes her face, as lame as that sounds. Her nose is small and delicate, and her lips are full and pouty. The bone structure in her face is really soft. She's a lovely girl, basically.

Build- She's of average height for a girl her age, standing about 5'7. She's really skinny because of all the pressure put on dancers to lose weight. She watches what she eats so closely that she may very well be in the beginning stages of anorexia. She doesn't angst about it, though. She just deals. She's full of muscle, but she's far from macho. Lydia's got curves, but they're definitely not the first thing you notice about her. They're just there, and proportioned with the rest of her body.

Clothing: Usually casual stuff. She has an obscene amount of jeans, and they're worn, comfy love. She refuses to wear ripped jeans. Lydia cannot wear shirts with only one solid color. They always have to have some sort of print or design on them. Always. She has a beat-up pair of chuck taylors that she adores, but she hates all other sneakers. She can usually be found wearing some sort of sandal.

Personality: To put is simply, Lydia is sweet, caring, and lovely. She'll start out by being friendly to everyone until they do something ridiculously terrible to her. When someone is terrible to her she'll avoid them and be so heart-breakingly sad that it just kiiills. I'm not even exaggerating. Lydia is one of those people who is so incredibly nice that seeing them sad makes you want to be sad, too. She's crazy amounts of adorable.

She is so, so helpful and compassionate, it's rather ridiculous. If she sees a complete stranger with a problem, she'll take it upon herself to help them out. However, due to her need to help she soaks up bad vibes like no other. When someone is sad, she'll be sad. When someone is angry in general, she'll feel personally victimized. It takes a lot to break her spirit, but when she fills up with bad thoughts and feelings she tends to go into an emotional slump for a few days. It doesn't take long for her to become her happy self again, but those few recovery days are heartbreaking. Fortunately, her bad vibe overload doesn't happen often.

Contrary to popular belief, Lydia isn't all fluff. She's actually a very, very moody girl, but she doesn't like to let that side of herself show whenever she can help it. When she gets in one of her moods, she'll sulk and avoid human interaction, mainly. The big reason as to why she gets anti-social when she's moody is that she's afraid she'll snap and [emotionally] hurt someone.

Lydia is not such the biggest fan of magic. Being at a school where everyone has magic and enjoys showing it off makes her more than a little emo sometimes. She's a bit sadder in this universe than in any other universe she's been played in, but other than that there's no real change.

Strengths: Lydia is one hell of a dancer. She's been dancing nearly her whole life, and she's really passionate about it. She has the ability to see beauty in everything around her and she's very open-minded. She can look at a tree and see a million different things or possibilities.

Weaknesses: She can't cook. At all. She probably drinks more coffee than is healthy, and she doesn't eat nearly enough. Lydia always assumes there is some good in everyone, and she sets herself up for heartbreak. She can hold grudges like no other. If you hurt her, she'll never forgive you. ever.

Likes: Dancing, people, coffee, boys, hugs, holding hands, singing, musicals, music, New York City, Chicago, cities in general, travel, airplanes, sketching people, her brothers, dressing up, acting classy, romance novels.

Dislikes: Negative emotions, rudeness, ignorance, cold weather, ripped jeans, sneakers, getting dirty.

Music: Anything she can dance to, basically. While she's not crazy about rap, Lydia will listen to it just because it has a good beat to dance to. She likes dance music and remixes. She also likes jazz a whole lot. Lydia is a big fan of swing dancing. She tends to groove subtly when listening to music. She has perfected the art of walking and grooving at the same time.

Socially: Remember when I said Lydia loved everyone? That wasn't an exaggeration. She really does get along with nearly everyone at the school. She probably fits in best with the other dancer kids but she doesn't cling to them. She likes meeting new people too much to stick with one group.

She likes boys and she likes to date, but she's only had two serious relationships in her entire life. Her only relationship since moving to New York only lasted three months. Lydia had a boyfriend for a year in Chicago, but she had to leave him behind when her family moved. Neither of them were into the idea of a long-distance relationship and the breakup was mutual. There's no resentment between them but they definitely haven't kept in touch.

History: Lydia's past was fairly nondescript. Her parents split when she was five. Her mother moved to California while Lydia, her brothers and her father stayed in Chicago. Most of her time in Chicago was spent dancing. During her freshman year she heard about auditions for a touring broadway show. Since these auditions took place in New York City and everyone needed a change of scenery, the Alsibade family packed up and moved. Lydia auditioned and made it into the show. She spent most of her time traveling all over the United States with a private tutor. About four months ago it was discovered that what she had was magic, and she just recently enrolled at Whispers.
