In chemistry Melissa let me barrow her Our Lady Peace CD. There was a line in it, I don't even remember what it was but it made me write...and write and write. Free association writing is when your hand never leaves the page, you don't stop to think about what you're saying, you just let the words hit the page. This is what I wrote.
You sit and sing songs of the past while your present slips away slowly fading into the past Alone with your memories Of days when you were happy you sit in misery Thinking. There's no mystery about what's already happened So maybe your mystery is where your life is now The world kept moving in your pause of glory In search for rewind you'll wake up in fast forward Singing your melody I startle you Confused so, hypnotic daze I show you the mirror And you won't recognize the stranger staring back There's no mystery About what's already happened So maybe your mystery is where your life is now You remember them with feelings strong but the colors have faded the glow is gone
...And then the bell rang hehe. I don't know if it was trying to turn into a song or what. I didn't think about it at all when I wrote it...but then that's one of the things I love about writing, it's not always conscious.
