Abominable Corn.
"Will you drive a little faster?" said a Walmsley to a Boul,
There's a Saxby close behind us & he's driving like-a fool
We are coming to a hairpin which I fear will cause us trouble,
For beside it is a wall which could well turn into rubble,"
"You can really have no notion how uncomfy it will be
if we stuff it at this corner and Saxby squashes me."
But the Boul replied, "Too late too late" as he came across a yump.
"Hello, hello what' s this?" he asked, " think I've cracked my sump."
(This yump had caused great problem for Pete and Tony Shute,
For as they hammered over it, it made poor Tony puke.
"I wish when you were feeling ill" said navigator Cutler,
"There was some way that you could make it all a little subtler,")
John Day appeared upon the scene and commented to Mike,
"If 12-cars carry on like this I'll buy myself a bike".
Since Walmsley' s heading for the wall, we'll have to find a new Martin
And Saxby's flattening all of them--now he and Steve are parting!"
And now we're sitting in the pub, discussing what had happened,
Have Steve and Robin met again? Was Martin really flattened?
Will Walmsley ever weld again? Is Mark still in a coma?
And when will Tony sterilize Pete Cutler's map and Roma?
Two Corn Dollies.
With apologies to Lewis Carroll, Lesley for the metre, and all our readers.
