The Woodyard
Also called Baines' woodyard or Sheffields woodyard. This spot is just off Ecclesall Road, but the exact location is a secret.... If you ever get to skate there you will see on first instincts, just a car park with quite rough surface and a small hip. This spot shares the same fate as many- you cant skate there during weekday days, it is a car park for a business, like any other so it is full with cars. You can skate there at weekends and after about 6:30 on weekdays. There is usually a quite busy session there on Sundays with the Safeway mob down there sometimes and you quite often see Joel Curtis, Arthur Tubb and Sam Ashley there. Baines himself is usually there at night time but sometimes on weekends. Baines and Curtis have constructed some obstacles themselves, seen in his new video quite a lot, e.g. grindable crates, stolen road barrages.
On the whole this is quite a good spot, but i wouldn't go a lot out of my way, it is only because I live close, well worth a visit if you are passing though. Only problem is the nasty surface, but it isn't too much to complain about.
