Tesco
This is the Tesco on Abbeydale Road, and where the skaters skate is in the Park and Ride car park, but there is never any cars in there as this service isn't used. There is a manual pad that is about 4 feet long and if you are better at manuals then the long side is about 15 feet long (roughly) and on the side of the pad the curbs are well waxed-on either side. There is a sloping bank with a curb at the bottom and top that is about a metre long and slopes downwards. If you are good at ollies then you can try and ollie this gap as there is a long smooth run-up and good landing. There are assorted waxed curbs, but the main thing is the large and very open space with very smooth ground. If it rains suddenly then there is a small bus shelter with a waxed ledge and waxed metal benches which are about knee height, but right next door is the Sainsbury's underground carpark. There is a very small bank and a thin wall next to it which can be ollied off and if you are feeling mad there is a paper bin about 8 feet high that you can manual or ollie off (very crazy).
This is a good skatespot and there are usually about 10 skaters (or more) there after school but usually more if the weather is dry, but then again if you are un-lucky there could only be a few people there or none (unlikely, if you go around 4:30 on a dry weekday). You can occasionally see Mark Baines and Joel Curtis there for an hour or so, Mark Baines and Danny Brady have a few tricks here in
First Broadcast, where they get the bins and build a kicker, and they do grinds on them.
