The House Indoor Skatepark
This is Sheffield's only indoor skatepark, very good for those rainy days of which we have a lot in Sheffield. It is situated right next to the ski village (0114 2490055). There is a street course- a flatbank next to a quarter and another thin bank, ahead is a death box and a funbox after that are two small funboxes with rails down the middle and then rails in the middle of the two. Right at the back of the street course is a four set with ledges down each side, this is next to another quarter and a taller roll-in.
There has just been a new section put in- the mini house, this is a section for beginners to brush up their skills, it replaces the vert ramp. In here are a few sets of small quarters and two together which make a very small halfpipe, there is a very mellow flatbank and a longer steeper one, there is also a very small funbox, it is quite fun skating around in here. Last of all there are a 4 mini ramps down the left hand side of the park the first being better then the other 3 as it has just been re-surfaced, the surface is all smooth wood. You are required to wear a helmet if you are under 18, they lend you helmets or you can bring your own, i recommend bringing your own if you have one, because the ones that are lent out are usually sweaty and they stink.
It costs:
2 for 1 hour
3 for 2 hours
4 for 3 hours
5 for 5 hours or
7 if you want to spend the whole day.
