Events
Please inform me if you know of any events in that are taking place in Sheffield.
Tuesday 23rd July, 2002- This will be the start of Sumo's summer school, where you are taught about skating "dark ages". Videos will be shown from this era, and on Tuesday, the video "Blind Video Days" will be shown. It starts at 6pm, try to go down, this is one of the best videos ever made, back when Blind were owned by different people, who didn't just want to be in the industry for the money.
Tuesday 30th July, 2002- The next lesson of the summer school at Sumo, which will take place on Tuesdays at 6. They will be showing "Dan Wolfe: Underachievers", try to make it for this as well, it's a good video despite being in black and white. A stylish video. For more information on these events call in at Sumo or check out www.safewaymob.co.uk or www.sumostore.com.
Sunday 18th August, 2002- Octagon Tour, to be held at Devonshire Green, if the weather permits, maybe it will rain- so most will end up at The House. Featured names will include... Snowy, Joey Crack, Danny Brady and Chewy Cannon. This will be pretty amazing, so try to make it. Thing is, with the likes of Snowy and Joey Crack being the team captains they will probably turn up, lets say 5 days late, but thats how it goes. Try to make it, it should be a good day, here's the poster..
Sunday 25th August, 2002- The following Sunday to the Octagon tour, this is the competition held by Document skate magazine. It's more of a everyone skate all day, and the people who do well get money type of thing. Last year it was really good with the Clown team showing up and the inevitable (spelling) give-away, which is always funny, with people swapping their goodies, and bragging about what they got. Again should be a good day out, you can skate about- who knows you might get the money...
Tuesday 27th August, 2002- Now then, the daddy of them all, the Blueprint tour, what else needs to be said- be there!! 3 tours in less than 3 weeks, aren't we being spoiled here in Sheffield. All the pro team will be there, yes Baines, Colin Kennedy, Paul Shier, Scott Palmer and Vaughan Baker. The aimed start time is 1pm, apparently all the team are really keen, so they will make it for 2pm, hopefully. The tour didn't happen last year, but needless to say it's here this time around and don't miss this opportunity, as well as the pros come the ams, and almost all the Octagon team, Danny Brady, Chewy Cannon, Nick Jensen and more. Just be there, should be a great day, also at Devonshire, rain=The House. Click here to see the poster, names etc.
