Isaiah 55:2
"Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labour on what does not
satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will
delight in the richest of fare."
It is easy to get caught up in the world's system and think that we need to
buy all the latest stuff. You know stuff is not necessarily bad but it is
when we try to get our self worth and satisfaction from it. We need to keep
in mind that what really will make us happy in life is God. The world says
if we will just buy that special sports car, or go on that special
vacation, or reach a certain level of recognition in our job then we will
have achieved fulfilment. I don't know about you, but I know some people
that have all of that and are still very miserable. I even know Christians
who have let their walk with God go sour and they are trying to get their
happiness from stuff.
Isaiah 58:11, "The Lord will . . . satisfy you with all good things and you
will be like a well watered garden, like an ever flowing spring."
Psalms 103:5, "He satisfies my desires with good things, so that my youth
is renewed like the eagle's.
If you are finding yourself not fulfilled, maybe it is time to do an
inventory of your walk with Christ. Only Jesus can truly satisfy you.
