Notes for Christian Conver
Christian Conver was a blacksmith and followed his trade, along with farming, in Hatfield Township. He died a young man, at the home of his father-in-law, in Hatfield, under a most sad and distressing circumstance. We copy from the Norristown Register, under the date of May 24, 1815:
"Last Wednesday, Christian Comfort (Conver) of Hatfield Township, in this county, (in company with two persons), while in the act of cutting down a tree, received a violent blow on his head from a limb on which the tree fell, instantaneously depriving him of existence. He left a disconsolate widow and one child to mourn the irreparable loss."
