The Princess Diaries was a story about a girl named Mia Thermopolis (Anne Hathaway), who is a shy girl from San Francisisco. She finds out that she's a princess of a small country in Europe called, Genovia. Mia is forced to take Princess lessons with her grandmother (Julie Andrews), so that she can become a true Genovian princess. Clarisse (grandmother, Julie Andrews) is determined to make her grandaughter (Mia, Anne Hathaway) the princess of Genovia, which Mia is not looking forward to.
I found that the Princess Diaries was a bit childish. The plot was good, but the way it was set up, made the movie very kidish. I recommend it for younger kids. Kids that plan on being princesses when they grow up. Or have a dream. Because, younger kids will love this movie. It was funny and it did have a good plot. I liked the idea though. Anne Hathaway was splendid in this movie, and was pretty funny. Julie Andrews played the confident grandmother who knew Mia was fit to be a princess. Anne Hathaway has a long way to go, before she does become the next Julia Roberts, though...
America's Sweethearts was a funny movie about a movie star, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and her sister, Julia Roberts, who is her assistant in the movie. Keaky, Julia Roberts, was never a big star, and never as pretty as her sister, but she didn't really mind. She just hid it inside. Gwen, Catherine Zeta-Jones, was a big hit because her and her husband were America's Sweethearts. They were the perfect couple and everyone loved them. But, they finally broke up, and Gwen started to try to make it on her own without her husband. Which is a big problem, when she's forced to attend a junket for a movie opening that stared her husband and her.
The movie was really funny. It also had a happy ending. I can't tell you what happened but, it was a really awesome movie. I really enjoyed it. The plot was very creative, and Catherine Zeta-Jones really played her part as a snobby moviestar. It really makes us wonder if other movie stars and like this...
