May 2006
update May 12, 2006:
Two days ago, our family expanded another 25%! Our daughter Maxine was born on 5/10/06 at 2:19 am by Cesarian section, because regular birth was not possible, due to the umbilical cord  being wrapped around the shoulder and the wrist. This just held her back...
She measures 54 cm and weighs 3790 g! That is about 1 kg more than Lionel two years ago...
Lionel and I hope to have our "girls" back home by Sunday...

update Jan. 27, 2006:
... not as long as the last time! As you can see, I have made some layout changes to the home page and to the way the photos are presented.
We have some big changes coming up:
In about two months we will move into a house with a little garden. That will allow Lionel to go outside and play on his own, whenever he feels like it.
And in about three months, we expect Lionel's little brother or sister... (Valrie is already looking forward to the day, when she will be past her pregnancy...)!

update Nov. 27, 2005:
Quite some time, since I last got to work on our homepage... in the meantime, Lionel has developed amazing new skills. And he has been on vacation in Southern France in July and in Lanzarote/Canary Islands/Spain in September. He absolutely loved the water and the Atlantic Ocean!
Just 5 weeks have passed since I graduated from Dental School at the University of Basel!
... and already I have worked for four weeks as an assistant dentist in a private office, where I learn the everyday tricks of the trade!

update June 22, 2005:
He's done it! Lionel started to walk on his own two days ago! And he can't be stopped... he still falls now and then - you should see his forehead - but that doesn't keep him from doing it!

update June 5, 2005:
Time flies!!! We celebrated Lionel's first birthday on the 22nd of April. He was a little overtaken by the crowd which showed up and him being the center of attraction. For now I don't have any B-Day pix, because I only filmed that day, but I will post some, when I get them from others who have some. I added a new page
Past Frontpages - CHECK IT OUT!

update March 27, 2005:
It is Easter Sunday - a rainy day here in Switzerland! Next year, our little boy will be hunting Easter eggs himself. But for now he keeps to getting up on his feet at everything he gets between his hands. His equilibrium is not yet really great but that doesn't keep him from not trying. He also sits up by himself. His advances are enormous these days.

update Jan 23, 2005:
Christmas with our little son was great! He was so fascinated by the candles and all the glittering things on the tree. And how he loved to rip the wrapping paper from the gifts...
Unfortunately, the diagnosis of atopic dermatitis, which mainly manifests itself on Lionel's cheeks has been confirmed. In the beginning, it got better with a new cream from Novartis (Elidel), but it came back. We are mainly concerned to keep it from bothering him too much by its itching. Because otherwise he is such a lively and joyful little boy!

update Oct 31, 2004:

There are new photos to check out! (Follow the link in the left hand corner)
After our vacation, life is back to normal. Valrie (who promised to start setting up her page) has taken up work at 60% at the emergency dept of Kantonsspital Aarau again.

I started my last year of Dental School two weeks ago - the end is coming nearer, and it's coming fast...

Lionel is being looked after by his god-mother Sandra and his grand-parents from both sides. Fortunately he likes to being away from home every now and then.

In less than two months Christmas is here. We are very curious to see, how Lionel is liking the tree, the presents and all that... because he has started to "look" at things with his hands and mouth just as much as with his eyes!

update Sept 14, 2004:

Two days ago, I have posted the latest photos from our vacation. Today I am at work and have some off-time, because there are no ill people...

So I have updated our homepage some more... who can find the differences?
