Revis P. Costelloe was the eldest child born to Peter Costelloe and Elmira Snodgrass. He was born Sept 1, 1871 at Smith River, Del Norte County, California

Revis met Amanda Merz when she working as a housekeeper for Ruby and Fred Blake. He married Amanda on December 1, 1904 in Crescent City, California. They had one daughter, Eva born in April 1905 on the Winchuck River in Curry County, Oregon. They also had 2 sons, Lauren born in 1910 and Royce born in 1926.

In 1908 Revis was a timber faller in the redwoods near Crescent City. Amanda waited tables in the cook house. Hobbs and Wall was the Company.

In 1909, Revis built a home for his growing family in what is now called Harbor, Oregon. The house had a foundation of native stone and hand hewn Port Orford cedar stringers. He and Amanda with daughter, Eva moved in just before Lauren was born in March of 1910. Since they lived 30 miles from the nearest doctor, Lauren was delivered into the world by a Chetco Indian squaw.

On the 1910 water records of Harbor, Revis was listed as being 39 years of age and a Forest Ranger. In 1917, while Revis was in the service of the Rangers, he was working at the Packsaddle Lookout. His wife Amanda and another ranger was with him. They spotted a fire which was advancing in the direction of the lookout tower. While Revis and the fellow ranger fought the fire on the ground, Amanda kept the sparks beat out on and around the tower. The fire was soon brought under control by others, but Revis, Amanda and the other ranger had managed to save Packsaddle Lookout Tower with very little damage.

Revis moved his family to Four Mile near Bandon, Oregon in 1921.  Revis worked as a logger with a team of horses on the Four Mile Ranch. Daughter, Eva was married to Paul Gardner at the Costelloe home in 1924.  Revis and Amanda's third child Royce was born in December 1926 at Four Mile.

Revis died in December 1925, at the age of 54 in the Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland Oregon. He had cancer of the bladder and died several days after surgery. He was buried at the Denmark Cemetery about 10 miles outside of Port Orford, Oregon.

Amanda later married Robert Hunt. She died February 02, 1966 at Woodburn, Oregon and is buried at Forest Grove, Oregon.
