|
Leonard Clare Costelloe was born March 08, 1896 in Smith River, Del Norte County, California. He was the eldest son of Edmond Costelloe and his wife Alice Dow Costelloe. Leonard grew up on the Costelloe Ranch with his brothers and sister. He served in the US Navy and was an licensed electrician, an electrical contractor, a blacksmith and a donkie doctor for a logging camp. (the donkie was an engine used in logging at that time, I had to look that one up as I thought for a time he was a veterinarian!) He married his first wife, Nellie B. We don't know anything about her. He married his second wife was Regina Myrtle Duncan on August 30, 1923 in Santa Rosa, California. She was born November 06, 1893 in Egypt, Washington, and died February 08, 1952 in Portland, Oregon and is buried in Gold Beach, Oregon. Carl and Regina ran a commercial laundry service on the south coast in the 1930's. To this union 5 children were born, Bessie, Alice, Barbara, Delbert Revis, and Robert. He later married his third wife Lelia LaGrande November 25, 1959. He died September 17, 1962 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He died at the home of his brother in Klamath Falls, and is buried at Dallas Cemetery in Dallas, Oregon. |
