Elmira Snodgrass Costelloe
1853-1939

Elmira Snodgrass was born February 20, 1853 in Illinois.  She was the daughter of William P. Snodgrass and Amanda Revis.  She crossed the plains when she was 7 with her parents to settle in the Brookings area.

Elmira married Peter Costelloe on September 5,1870 in Chetco, Curry County, Oregon.  To this union 3 children were born, Revis, Ruby, and Edmond.  Peter and Elmira were divorced around 1880? 

Her second husband was named Maurice Dunlay.  Her third husband was named Gordon and her last husband was Paul Lavasseur. She was known as Aunt Midge to many.  Cleo Nancy Dickens met her briefly and said she was a very cute little old lady and seemed like a jolly soul. Elmira died January 3, 1939.
