Ireland 2002

Our trip to Ireland was wonderful! I think we all had the best of times and made some real memories that we will look back on for many years. To start with,  I love London so we spent a couple of days there at the beginning of our trip. Betty and Bonnie had never been out of country let alone in a city the size of London, and they did a great job of keeping up and not getting run over by all the locals!

We then traveled to
Dublin and spent a couple of days there. We took the tour bus and saw all the sites. By the time we were done we were all pretty tired of the big city so we picked up our rental car and headed out. We went all the way across Ireland towards Galway.  We made it though all the round-abouts and never crashed or got lost once!

Our first stop was in the town of Spiddell where we stayed for a couple of nights before flying over to Inisheer Island, where Peter Costelloe is from. The island was beautiful, quiet and quaint. We only stayed for one night, but it was a enlighting experience.

During our stay on the island we were introduced to two Costello's, (no e on the end) Martin and Tony Costello.  Martin is the local Postmaster and Tony is a Fisherman.  We had a lovely time visiting with them.  We tried to make a connection, but we just didn't have enough information to be able to do so.

Ireland Continued

I want to thank them for being so kind and brave as to meet up with us!  I hope we will see then again in the future.

After our visit to Inisheer it was on to the southern part of Ireland, we saw the Cliffs of Moher, the Ring of Kerry, Waterford Crystal Factory and so many more things.  The country was beautiful and the people were lovely, so friendly and always willing to give you a helping hand, with the exception of that one lady who only gave me a helping finger!  Only kidding!!

Corrections or
more info?

I have recently been in touch with several of the family members asking for information on their mothers and fathers.  Apparently some of the information I had was not entirely correct.  If you see something on the website that does not look right or if you have further information on any of the people on the family pages please send it on to me.  If the family member you have information does not have a page yet, I can put one together in a short time.  So don't be timid, send me what you have, I'm sure others would love to know more about their family.

I have also heard of some interesting vacations that were taken this year, I would love to hear more about what you have been up to.......write me!

Odd bits

I have been told that our cousin Jeannie has been in a rehab center in the Portland area, we hope that she is feeling better and will be on the mend soon.  To any of you who are in touch with her please tell her hello and that we are thinking of her.

I want to extend invitations to family members who might be in my area, visiting or just passing though.  I would love to meet up with you and get to know you all a bit better.

I work during the day but I can sometimes vary my schedule, if you pop into town during the week.  I am usually around on the weekends.

Well that about wraps up this issue of the newsletter, I hope to hear from you with suggestions or information for further newsletters or for comments on the website. Please return often as I will be adding more things as time goes by.

Until we meet again.  I hope life treats you well.
