School
School today, to put it into layman's terms, sucked.
Seriously. A bombed Jerry test. That I could do nothing about because I spent the previous night doing Jerry homework. FUHUHUHuhuhuh.......
Not helping my spirits at all was the reception of my report card. No miracles occurred, unless you count the insignificance of not getting any negative comments, which while a plus, certainly wasn't going to distract me from the more pressing matter at hand - the B+s. This term is beginning to look like another B+fest with the 87 average in Chem and the bombed Jerry.
But hey, 90 on the "bombed" chem test is enough to sustain me for now.
Today, we watched some leet breakdancing in the senior assembly. But as expected, the assembly was mostly boring.
Jerry must seriously hate me or something. He asks who is friendly with some people in band and assigns them to inform the band members about the homework. When he gets to Lijian, he simply tells me it's my responsibility to inform him. Note: I have never had any affliation with Lijian that I know of. None. Oh wait, yeah, one. I'm Asian. Fortunately I escaped the demoralizing task of looking up an Asian with the name "Zhou" in the phonebook and calling several times to see which one was correct by catching him before he went to band. Phew.
Of Games and GameFAQs.
Well, I tried Halo 2 today. I just couldn't get into it. But it feels
like a polished game; I like it a bit above Halo, and it doesn't hold as
many unpleasant memories. Maybe because Jeff Eff was also present.
On the other hand, I've been making slow but steady progress in Paper Mario 2 and Final Fantasy X. Yeah. I'm not on fire, more like heating on an electric stove.
My personal "Best. Game. Ever." poll draws to a close on GameFAQs. I'm getting much higher voter turnout these days than in the dregs of rounds one and two. I hope to finish by December, but it'll probably go to around two weeks in. When it finishes, I will be GameFAQs-free.
Speaking of overcoming addiction, when I come back to school for Thanksgiving, I will be playing Tetris at lunch, not Pres. That's right, Tetris will be my bitch. Today was the unofficial Tetris tournament. During Chem, we played like hell, and thanks to Anandh's glitchy calculator faceoff in the first round, I only got to play three series of seven. It's a decently fun game, but its addictive powers are disturbing.
Non-Academics-Related, Non-Game-Related Bull. No, Seriously. Yeah,
Right.
Tomorrow is the glorious holiday of Thanksgiving. Now, behold, for I am
about to be sincere like never again and never before:
I am thankful for the Internet. I am thankful for Nintendo, Square, Konami, and Capcom. And yes, I am thankful for the Xbox for being competition. I am thankful to those who give me self-esteem; I am thankful for those who keep it at a reasonable level. I am thankful for living in a great country, in spite of its leadership, censorship, and legal processes involving excessive lawyers. I am thankful for living in the best town evar, and for having a website like this, and I am thankful that there was a time that GameFAQs didn't suck as bad. I am thankful for the twenty seconds that you have wasted reading this paragraph and for your support of this site.
(note: sincerity ends here)
What else? Christmas this way comes, and with it vacation. I'm not jumping the gun here; just making an interesting observation of the coming of the new year. A glorious new year... Well, thanks to the most recent PTSO letter, I became distinctly and unwillingly aware of the semi-formal dance in five weeks. Three of which involve school. Should I be nervous? No. Am I? Sadly, yes. I'm having some thoughts about what to do.
Don't sweat it. I've got it under control.
I'm stacking.
