Here's a simple design for turning a vegetable oil can, a piece of rope, and a heated nail.
First, remove the section of
the top of the jug that has
the spout.
Next, use the heated nail to
punch holes in the front of
the jug. For a good spray
pattern, you could try punching
the holes in at an angle to the
plastic.
For a usable handle, punch two
larger holes on both sides of the jug, near the initial cut, and wrap and
tie the rope through. Make sure the rope is tied securely, or it will slide
of during use.
The best method for securing the rope so far begins
by looping the rope around the front of the can so that it lies half way
down the front of the can and thread through the top hole on the side.
The rope is then thread through the lower hole and tied together on the
back of the can to begin to form the handle. At a suitable length for the
handle, tie the two ends together and bring them around to the front to
be tied to the first loop in front. The last bit of rope is brought under
the can and tied to the bottom of the handle
