Two long time friends met tonight in a matchup of former Maplewood coaches. THe game started out in a very close fashion with the 'HEarts going three up and three down. Meghan then took the mound and struck out the first two and had her third except for an error by her catcher putting a runner on. That didn't seem to bother "Rocket" as she struck out the next batter on three pitches. Game tied at zero.

Inning two saw the bottom two thirds of the order come alive as two Emily hit two batters and walked two more and the 'Hearts took advantage scoring all four. Megan's turn on the mound saw four more batters, three Ks and one walk.

In the top of the third the SweetHearts poured it on scoring seven runs on a hit, a hit batter, a homerun by Natalie, a walk, another hit batter, a hit, followed by Meghan's triple. Two more walks and a wild pitch finished the 'Hearts scoring. Meghan's final trip to the mound saw her face four more batters walking the lead-off batter before striking out the next three to end the ball game. Final score 11-0. SweetHearts 3 wins and 1 loss.

Meghan upped her strike out season total to 43 with just two walks.
