SweetHearts vs
Dynomites End of the year school dances and parties took its toll of this game as the Dynomites could not field a complete team and the SweetHearts had players who would rather be somewhere else. The ‘hearts managed to put eleven players on the field while the Dynomites could only get 6 players at the game. The outcome was declared a forfeit yet the two teams got an inning of softball in before they went their separate ways – to middle school dances and “important parties”.
The Dynomites batted first and things looked like even this would be “just another night” as they managed to put runners on with walks and passed balls. However this time it was two batters then an out, two batters then an out and finally two more then the final out. They did manage to score five runs with their limited players. In the bottom of the first the SweetHearts started a little shaky then began to really put together a very good game offensively... Hayleigh walked, then Freja and Bayleigh, before Haley’ line drive down the third base line forcing Freja out at third, Six walks and two hits later the umpires called the game leaving the SweetHearts hold an 12-5 lead with one out.
Seems everyone was in disbelief at the called “game” as the team lined up for the hand shakes. It did allow players to make their respective dances and parties and the SweetHearts to get their first win of the season.
