Meghan then took the mound and stuck out three of the next four batters to show the Tigers who was boss. In the third the 'Hearts struggled getting dinky hits around the infield. The Tigers on the other hand managed to sneak across two runs before Meghan shut the side down with a strike out. 

Now the lead was cut to 5-4 for the 'Hearts.
Top of the fourth and we managed to get one more run for a little cushion. The Tigers inched closer again get one run of their own. Now came the top of the fifth with time running out.

Brittany get a hit to the pitcher but is thrown out. The top of the order came up and Meghan hit a sharp liner towards left field. It got past the fielder and the coaches wave her around the bases. The ball is thrown towards home as she dashes across the plate for a homerun. Ashleigh gets a decent hit and with her running ability gets on. Two stolen bases later she is standing on third. Karli lays down the perfect squeeze bunt to score Ashleigh. Two outs. Amanda takes the second pitch for a solid hit past the left fielder and uses her long legs to score a solid homerun upping the score to 9-5.

In the bottom of the fifth Meghan has the best inning of the night as she gets the first batter to ground out to first the dominates the next two batters getting her 10th and 11th strike outs of the game. 

The SweetHearts up their record to 1-1-1. Next game is Thursday, May 16th, 5:30, field #13. 
One interesting note to this game was that the plate umpire was Christine Collins, a former SweetHearts shortstop.
