SweetHearts vs BaseBurners Letting the opponent open the game with four runs in six batters is not a good sign of things to come. That’s exactly what the SweetHearts did against the BaseBurners. Mary M. gave up a walk, a strike out and three hits in the opening inning. The ‘Hearts came to bat and produced nothing as they went down three outs in just four batters. The inning left Grace stranded on third following her triple. Mary and Tori M. combined in the second inning to give up eight runs as the Burners batter through their lineup taking an 12-0 lead. All the ‘Hearts could do was slip Katie C. across the plate in the bottom of the second to remore the “goose-egg” off the scoreboard. Mary manage to shut down the Burners in the third getting two strike outs
and a ground out from pitcher to first. The ‘Hearts went down The BaseBurners score another six runs in the top of the fourth before the umpires called the game due to the “time-rule” giving the Burners an 18-1 victory. Mary pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up 11 runs on 9 hits, 4 walks, and 3 strike outs. Tori pitch one inning giving up 7 runs and two walks. The ‘Hearts are now 1-2 on the young season. © 2005 SweetHearts83.com |
