SweetHearts vs Lady Warriors

It started with two top players out for a band concert (a pitcher and a catcher) then the other missing players included another 12 year old utility player and an 11-year-old. Right off we had to forfeit since the park never lets us leave draft with enough players.

We tried to at least get a little practice and in the top of the first inning Megan did manage to score the first run of the 'game' on a steal of home. In the bottom of the first we managed to hold the Lady Warriors to only three runs. Not bad for only having one out fielder. Leah pitched the entire two innings and did a good job. Catching was the problem with too many "pass balls" and dropped third strikes.

By the second we couldn't hit the ball or run either. In the bottom of the second we forgot how to cover bases, throw the ball, or even catch. The Warriors were suddenly scoring at will and after 10 runs with only two outs I called the whole thing off and headed for home.

Maybe Wednesday night will be a little better.
