And
we thought we were friends! After weeks of practicing with and against
the Baseburners, they turned on us and showed us who got the most out of
the past three weeks of practice. Again pitching cost the SweetHearts early
on and by the time our game settled down it was all but over.
After the first inning things looked okay for the Hearts as the Baseburners struggled to take a two run lead. By the end of two, the game was all but over with the Hearts down15-1. The Baseburners never looked back as they ran the score to 21-2. At the plate the SweetHearts either couldn't or wouldn't hit Kritin Vincent's pitching.
Tritan
Hager lead what little hitting the Hearts had, going 2 for 2 with one run.
Ashley Person, Kaitlin Wagnon, and Jessica Louviere went 1 for 2. Kaitlin
score the other SweetHeart's run in the bottom of the fourth. In all, Kristin
shut the Hearts down with 10 strikeouts in 17 batters.
The SweetHearts (1-2) may have a long season ahead of them as there are a half dozen good, fast pitchers in the league this year. Next Tuesday the Hearts face the Diamond Raiders and another good pitcher.
