Over-powering pitching by Jessica Webb, striking out seven of the first 12 batters, helped the SweetHearts to their third win in three tries.
The 'Hearts opened the top of the first inning with three runs over a normally strong Lady Electros pitcher. The runs came on several wild pitches before she pulled herself out of the game saying she was sick.
Webb shut the Ladys down three-up-three-down in the first while the SweetHearts added another run in the top of the second.
The scoring went back an forth over the next couple of halves as the 'Hearts upped the tally to 5-1 at the end of three.
Tristin Hager came in to pitch in the bottom of the fourth. Hager's pitching looked good but the Lady Electros found ways to get on base. With two out, one run in, the bases loaded with the tying runs, and the Electros' top hitter coming to the plate, the SweetHearts' coaches elected to bring Webb back in for this one batter. Webb ended the treat on four pitches with a routine ground out to first.
The 'Hearts would go on to score two more runs in the fifth to up the score to 7-2 before closing out their third win. The SweetHearts will take on the Aces on Wednesday night.
