SweetHearts vs The Slammers

This game turned out to be nothing like last years. Even their coach made the comment after the game that they were "afraid" of playing us because we gave them such great games last season. Then we both talked our lack of pitching on both teams. Their's turned out to be 'just good enough' to hold us from getting anything started.

First Inning: The SweetHearts opted to bat first for the fifth time knowing that our fielding would not be great. The game started with Alexis getting a walk followed by Shelby's unexpected strike out. That was followed by Freja getting a walk setting things up for Micaela's at-bat. Nothing happened as three pitches later Micaela struck out out followed by Santana's K.

In the bottom half of the inning Savannah talked coach into allowing her to pitch. Her pitching lasted just three batters and three runs. Micaela followed her but did no better allowing seven more runs and added just one out. Alexis came in to pitch and gave up three more runs. No one could seem to find the batter's box. Savannah returned to give up five more runs before Coach Greg went to the umpires and called the game. The heat claimed out first line catcher and was taking it's toll on our second catcher when the game was called.

The game ended with only two outs in the bottom of the first with the score being 18-0. We had played only an hour and five minutes when it was called.
