SweetHearts vs The Dynomites

First games never go as coaches plan them and tonight's game was no exception. At least not after the top of the first inning. The SweetHearts opened much as the year ended last season, with everyone getting on base and runs coming in droves. However, the game changed quickly after the third out was made. The excitement and anticipation quickly ended as the thoughts of a long summer became more real.

First Inning: The 'Hearts began the game by Alexis and Terrah leading off with walks followed by Micaela's "to the fence", first pitch homerun before the next two batters struck out. The SweetHearts suddenly found themselves up 3-0. As Micaela went to the mound, the 'Hearts quickly found out that this would not be a repeat of last year's 11-1 season. Micaela proceeded to walk seven of the next eight batters giving up an insurmountable lead. Alexis was brought in to close out the inning and eventually the game. She finally closed the first at 11-3.

Second Inning: The second inning was more of the same with Shelby getting the only run as she stole hole after a series of walks. Alexis fared no better on the mound giving up a total of seven more runs to up the Dynomite's lead to 18.

Third Inning: The final inning was played in just under the time limit and final ten minutes has the 'hearts managed to score two more runs on base hits by Terrah and Micaela.

After an opening forfeit win the SweetHearts season now stands at 1-1.
