SweetHearts vs Base Burners

It was thought that things couldn't get worse but they did and the team faces one more level or "worseness" to come come. Tonight several players chose not to show up, no to call, and no one told anyone why they would not be at the game. The 'Hearts took the field with just nine players - the bare minimum. On the other side the Base Burners had their full team and thier new ace pitcher on the mound.

The SweetHearts pitching took a pounding from the very first pitch, allowing five runs in the top of the first. The team would go through three pitchers before the coach told the umps to call the game after just three innings. The bright side was that the 'Hearts did manage two runs tonight on great hitting by Natalie and Kelsey. The final score? 14-2.

After the game several players said that they would be missing a game or three in the next two weeks. If the other players don't show up it will be the first game(s) that the SweetHearts will forfiet in 21 years. Not the kind of 'first' the team wants to hear.
