SweetHearts vs
Lady Renegades Here we go again. The SweetHearts gave
up eleven runs in the top of the first inning. This night was different in that
several key players were not at the game forcing the coaches to make position
moves for the sake of being able to play. It was a huge mistake. Pitches kept
getting passed our inexperienced catcher, our pitcher couldn't seem to hit the
strike zone, and batters walked on almost Facing an eleven run deficit meant it would be a very long night again. Little did we know that the 'Hearts would use their brand of magic to make the game very interesting. The one skill the SweetHearts have this year is base running. And that they did in the bottom of the first. Aided by Natalie's double and second homerun of the season the 'Hearts managed 13 runs to take the lead. In the top of the second the coaches put players back where they belonged and only filled it where we had missing players, and on Natalie's ability to catch anything pitched, they held the Lady Renegades to no runs. In the bottom of the second the 'Hearts scored two runs before time was called making this the longest one and half innings in SweetHearts history. |
