SweetHearts vs Lady Warriors

Our first 'rematch of the season. It wasn't pretty but at least we didn't have to forfeit like the first time we played the Warriors. We thought things were going to go well when our second batter, Jeannette, doubled and later scored to give the 'Hearts an early lead. However, the next two batters struck out. The Lady Warriors came to bat and before we could get an out they had six runs and chased our starting pitcher off the mound.

In the second inning the 'Hearts went down without much of a fight at the plate with the only hit going to Alyssa between two strike outs and a ground out. Taylor came back to the mound in the second and pitched well but had no real defensive support giving up six more runs on five hits, a walk and two strike outs. The 'Hearts committed several field errors during the inning.

The third saw more of the same for the Hearts - two ground outs, a walk and a strike out. The bottom half of the inning was a repeat of the first two as Taylor pitched a very good game from the mound and was helped by great defensive plays from her catcher, Jeannette. But out in the field things continued to go wrong. The Warriors picked up four more runs on three hits, and two walks.

Final score 16-1 Lady Warriors. Jeannette picked up a double in the effort and scored the only run.
