SweetHearts vs Stingrays

This was one really strange game. First we had to forfiet the game due to lack of players - we were one player short. The park system allows you to still play 2 1/2 innings "just in case your ninth player shows up". We knew that wasn't going to happen but we played anyway.

We jumped out to a three run lead and managed to have the bases loaded when our "minning ninth player" came to bat becoming the third out of the inning. The Rays then managed to get four runs in their half of the inning before Bandy settled into her pitching groove.

In the top of the second the 'Hearts went down one-two-three on a two-on triple play. We didn't even know what hit us. Brandy went back to the mound and gave up only one run in five batters allowing the Rays. to take a 5-3 lead.

In the top of the third the "hearts got their act together and pounded out seven runs to take a 10-5 lead before the park's umpires called ballgame. It left the SweetHearts with the taste of victory on the heals of defeat. All ten runs came on walks and two hit batters.
