SweetHearts vs
Lady Renegades
Monday, June 12, 2006 - F13 - 7:15pm - Game
#344
NOTE: This game needs an
explanation before it goes any farther. The Lady Renegades didn't have
enough players therefore the game was called as a forfeit and our team
knew it before we ever began to play the two inning "just for fun" game.
When the 'Hearts stepped on the field the coaches knew it would be ugly.
The girls were more interested in going to a dance or just going home
than playing a game.
Being that the game was forfeit, The Lady Renegades batted first. Right
from the start it went down hill has Taylor gave up a hit, struck out
one, then walked the next before everything fell apart. It was followed
by a hit, hit, walk, walk, hit, walk, hit, strikeout, hit batter and 8
runs. Leah was then called on to finish the inning. She gave up a hit
and run before the defense finally got the last out. During those nine
runs the infield misplayed three automatic out plays, over threw two
bases and catching or lack of catching allowed untold numbers of steals.
In the bottom of the first Leah popped out, Elizabeth hit and was thrown
out at first, Michaela got on with her first hit of the year, Blanched
walked, and Sam hit right at the short stop for the third out.
In the second Leah came back on the mound and hit the umpire (off a foul
tip) sending the ump out of the game, then gave up a walk, then two
hits, an out, a hit batter, two more hits and a walk. She was pulled for
Taylor again who walked the next two before Elizabeth got the call to
pitch. She walked two more before the final out was made. Oh, and
ten runs scored.
In the bottom of the second, down 19-0, Megan came to bat and hit right
at the short stop, Taylor hit and was out at first. Katie walked and
stole home while Jeannette battled the pitcher at the plate. Finally
Jeannette got the pitch she was waiting for and delivered a hit down the
third base foul line, just fair, for a homerun. Alyssa came to bat and
with two strikes delivered a second homerun over the centerfielder's
head. Amanda came to bat and hit the ball solid but just right at a
player for the third and final out. The "non-game" was called.
For a game the 'Hearts won by forfeit,
we sure got beat bad, 19-3.
