SweetHearts vs Lady Tigers
Friday, June 11, 2004 - F14 - 5:30pm - Game #321

The Lady Tigers have been beating teams by more than 20 runs lately. They have good pitching, in fact several good tournament quality pitchers, great fielding and solid hitting. On the other hand the SweetHearts have only ‘below average’ pitching, very limited hitting, and very limited fielding. All this makes for a very mismatched ball game.

As the game began the ‘Hearts batted first with absolutely no hitting. It was three up and three down as several batters just watched pitches sail by without ever taking the bats off their shoulder. The Tigers came out swings and picked up three quick runs.

The second brought more of the same while the Tigers added another run. The only reason they didn’t score more was because the SweetHearts fielding was good enough to take away their hits.

By the third the Hearts began a come back scoring three runs on Natalie’s homerun. The ‘Hearts defense held keeping the score 4-3. However, it would be as close as the ‘Hearts would get as they could not produce any addition runs while allowing the Tigers one more run to make the final outcome 5-3.

The Lady Tiger’s coach commented after the game that the SweetHearts put a “scare in his team” and no one played them as close and as tough.
