SweetHearts vs The Dynomites

The team began the day excited to begin the season. It didn't last long as the SweetHearts struggled to get anything going. Jillian begin the day with the opening run of the 2009 season but that was it as she was the only player to cross the plate in the top of the first. By the time the Dynomites were done in the first they had scored 14 runs - mostly on walks as they tended not to swing at any pitches.

When the Hearts DID managed to get three outs the game was almost lost. A new pitcher by the Dynomites did allow the SweetHearts to at least get a few extra runs in the top of the second. By the time the team had finally made it through their batting order they had only scored five more runs. The Dynomites' second inning produced another six runs before coach Greg called the game. The SweetHearts had gone through five pitchers and had faced a string of 26 batters in just two innings and didn't have an out in the second inning. The final outcome was 20-6. Not a great opening to the new season.
