SweetHearts vs BaseBurners

       The rain finally held off enough for us to play a game but the bats of the SweetHearts didn't hold back. The team totaled 20 hits and 31 runs in just two innings against the totally out played BaseBurners.

First Inning: The BaseBurners chose to bat first in fear that if they didn't they might not get to for a very long time. It worked against them as Taylor walked the first player then struck out the next three to end the Burners hopes. As the SweetHearts came to bat little did anyone know that they would bat for the next 55 minutes. And even that could have gone longer had coach Brian and Coach Greg not made Micaela and Blanche strike out "for the team". The team had already scored 21 runs in one inning - a team record.

Second Inning: The second inning was not much better for the BaseBurners. The lead-off batter got a hit and eventually scored before Taylor could strike out three of the next four batters. The SweetHearts again pounded the ball scoring 10 more runs before game-time was called.

Players with three hits tonight include Taylor and Megan. Double hits came from Leah, Micaela, Blanche, Tracy, Sammi, and Terrah. Jeannette added another. Several crossed the plate scoring runs 3 time including Leah, Jeannette, Savannah, Miceala, Blanche, Tracy, Sammi, Megan, Shelby, and Taylor.

Savannah topped all players with four walks and Shelby picked up three.
