SweetHearts vs
Slammers The game was a makeup from a week ago but it was so much more. It was chance for revenge after last night's lost to the same team. The Slammers were undefeated and the 'Hearts should have been. Tonight would prove who really was the best team. When it was over the SweetHearts had a 5-3 complete game victory by Taylor and the compliments of the opposing coach. He even said he knew that last night's lost wasn't really a win for his girls. Maybe there should be a third game between the two teams. First Inning: As the game opened
not one player said a thing about where they were playing or batting.
They knew they shouldn't. They knew to just go out and play. Taylor
began on the mound with determination knowing that she was the leader on
this team and she had to show it. The first Slammer walked which
only made Taylor more determined. Second Inning: Taylor again gave up an opening batter/runner score before getting three outs in the next four batters. The Hearts came right back and added a run to again move ahead by two runs. This was going to be a close game. The fans began to really start paying attention to every move. Everyone knew this was the match-up of the season.
Fourth Inning: This the inning where the infield for the SweetHearts began to really shine. The first Slammer batter grounded to Tracy at third for the throw out at first. The second batter grounded out to Leah at shortstop. The final batter grounded out to Megan at second to end the inning 1-2-3! The Slammers pitchers got even however getting their own 1-2-3 inning. Game still 5-2. Fifth Inning: The Slammers came to the plate knowing they had to score three runs to tie the game. Taylor knew it too but still walked the first batter. With a couple of passed balls the runner managed to score. Coach Brian walked out to talk to Taylor and Blanche. Tay settled down and got the next two batters to ground out before letting the next sneak on. The final out was made as a little hit dribbled towards first base. Tracy, now at first, scrambled for the ball and fell down. Much to her surprise, Megan had instinctly moved from her second position to cover first. Tracy flipped her the ball to get the third out and claim the victory for the SweetHearts. Suddenly, the SweetHearts and Slammers were now tired for first place in the league. for Box Score Click Here
