Drakkin Empire of Enzan Shi

Helevorn's Sucess

The wolf-shifter grumbled under his breath as Inrahi's summons finally came. "Two months since the litter hatched. Blasted albino weakling!" He commented to Kayun.

The vampire chuckled. "Just make sure you don't anger her enough to make her change her mind. Now, get moving!" He said, shoving the wolf-shifter out of their leased accomodations.

Helevorn walked down the streets to where Inrahi had told him to meet. He noticed she was bedecked in their offerings and smiled slightly to himself. He was in his purely human guise again, not bothering to change it since he had arrived. He stood rather impatiently in front of the Lady Breeder.

"Thank you for coming," she began smoothly. "I realize what an inconvenience it must be for some of you to have traveled here, braving portals that can occasionally prove treacherous. Still, you are here and you are safe, for which we can be thankful. All hatchlings will be awarded in the order that offers were presented, a sound record-keeping procedure. Now, you are all no doubt wondering which of these lovely young predators will be yours."

Helevorn grinned as she gestured at the fighting younglings.

"Such activities as they are engaged in surely look like little more than child's play. Believe me, though, that they is so much more. Fighters are born through such play as this, and fighters can be lost without it. Training is a constant struggle with such as these. Control is a lesson hard-learned by even the most intelligent, and discipline harder still. I wish you well, whatever you do with them from this time forward." She finished and called her drakkin.

The female brought forward a bronze for Melf. Then she turned back but did not choose. Instead, a weak little albino went to his mother. One of the buyers - a female - was about to protest when he went to sit at Tytula's feet.

The lady sneered for a moment then wiped it off her face. "As soon as I saw the weakling, I knew it was yours." She taunted.

Helevorn agreed. She was too weak to be handling a fighter. The next one chosen was a black for the Lord Atari. "He is a fierce one," she purred, voice light and oddly lilting. Negotiations were through and a little play was welcome. "Rare and dangerous, to be sure. Worthy of a little extra attention." Her lips curled upwards. "If you are ever in need of advice regarding his training, please don't hesitate to...stop by. Your distinguished company is always appreciated."

Nys'asi picked up a young brown drakkin and brought him to Helevorn's feet. The wolf-shifter eyed the hatchling warily before moving forward. Ten'oio would have his hide if he ruined the connection he had made. As he gently reached out and touched the drakkin, he thought he saw the Lady smile...

The little creature let him pet it for a while before pinning his hand under his weight. Helevorn grinned and picked him up by the neck in the right spot so not to injure him. "Shouldn't be doing that." He warned and the little creature wagged his tail.

He put the beast down as the lady began to speak again. "I trust that the egg you gave me will be hatching soon," Inrahi said, delicately attracting their attention away from the hatchling. "Its shell is quite hard already."

The breeder then smiled kindly and scratched her black drakkin fondly. Helevorn's brown growled playfully and pounced on his trainer's foot. The wolf-shifter grinned at his new pet.

"Once again, thank you all for coming. As is customary, a small package awaits you upon exiting this building. It is filled to the brim with insects that enjoy the darkness of a drakkin's habitat. The drakkin in turn will enjoy the ready source of flavor that they provide as an addition to a healthy meat-rich diet. Please take care of your new acquisitions. I hope to see you all again someday soon." The lady said as a conclusion.

Helevorn picked up his little pet gingerly as its muzzle twitched. He managed to avoid his next pounce and chuckled. "Wait until we're out of public, little brat, then I'll show you who's the boss." He said.

He picked up the insect-bag on their way out and sniffed at it. "Personally, I think I'll leave this to you to eat." He observed lazily. "Now, where's that vampire?"

Kayun seemed to materialize out of nowhere. "Ready to go home?" He asked mockingly.

"Hele'nysar?" Helevorn asked, looking at his pet. The brown drakkin looked at him his muzzle twitching again. "Sick him." He ordered, putting the photosensitive beast down.

It pounced obediently on the vampire, growling playfully and set to chewing his sleeve. Kayun growled. "Get off of me." He commanded.

Hele'nysar ignored him. Helevorn grinned at his new pet. "Good, now, come." He said. The rare colored drakkin came. Helevron took an insect from the bag and gave it to the young creature. "Good Hele'nysar." He praised.

The drakkin gobbled it hungrily. Kayun looked at the creature. "It's pretty cute." He observed.

"He's what?" Helevorn demanded, staring at the vampire-mage.

"Cute." The vampire repeated.

"Good gods, you have gone crazy." The wolf-shifter growled. "Now, can we go home that way Ten'oio can see him?"

Kayun grinned evilly. "She won't be impressed with a simple brown from you." He taunted.

"To the contrary, Kayun, a brown is one of the three rarer fighter colors." Helevorn corrected. "Black, blue, bronze and red are common. Brown, purple and green are uncommon. Albino's are useless, so I'm simply glad I was not given that weakling."

The mage shrugged and they went back to their leased habitation. He formed a Portal on the wall of the bedroom. Hele'nysar hissed at the vampire before darting into the other room. Helevorn followed with a smirk for the mage.

The drakkin warbled as his trainer appeared on the other side of the Portal. The wolf eyed him. "You'll be needing a leash, won't you?" He mused.

A vampire seemed to materialize from the wall. She smirked as she eyed the young drakkin. "So you were sucessful." She stated, peering at the young beast.

"Yes, his name is Hele'nysar." He answered, putting a hand on the young creature's head.

It tried to bite him and he gently thwapped it across the muzzle. "Bad." He said firmly and it cowered, putting his tail between his legs in submission.

"A rare first try. It seems they do value our friendship." Ten'oio observed. "Good, then we shan't be tossed aside."

"Who do you wish for me to send to Kayun, Lady Vampire?" He asked, stroking his drakkin's head.

"Hmm... Nondar." She said. "However, it is up to the pair of them to decide who goes next. I have been told it's the eccentric one? If so, Kayun is to go."

Helevorn nodded and brought his young drakkin through their carved home. "Nondar?" He called, reaching the door marked with his name.

The vampire came to his door. "What?" He demanded, looking cross.

Helevorn remarked with some smugness that his brown hair was touselled. He had probably been taking advantage of some of the female slaves. "Ten'oio's orders: You're to pack your stuff and go to Rileikoul with Kayun." He said stoutly.

"Go where? And why Kayun?" The vampire snapped.

"The drow city, numb skull. And Kayun's the one in charge of negotiations there." The wolf-shifter snapped.

"How long do I have to pack?" The vampire demanded.

"As far as Ten'oio's considered, you were supposed to leave an hour ago." Helevorn growled, moving down the corridor.

Hele'nysar followed docilely at his heels, snapping sometimes at the backs of them. The wolf-shifter opened the door to his rooms - on the second level, due to his improved status. The brown drakkin darted inside and the shifter grinned. He had a human bed and a wolf one, as well as a drakkin bed for his pet.

He shifted to his wolf form. "Come here Hele'nysar." He called and the drakkin came warily. He crouched in the wolf version of play. "Let's play."

The brown drakkin pounced on his black and tan trainer. They scuffled for a while, Helevorn always winning yet showing the drakkin new techniques every time. He was three times or so as large as the youngster, but he showed the drakkin how to use his speed and strength. The little brat was lucky, too.

Helevorn grinned as he pinned the little drakkin down. "Just you wait, Ten'oio..." He growled, touching his nose to Hele'nysar's. "Helevorn will be better than any vampire at training drakkins."

Hele'nysar has grown!
