Drakkin Empire of Enzan Shi Discovery of the Drakkin "Ten'oio!" The youngest vampire called, running up to the lead vampire's cavernous office. "What, Kayun?" She asked, spinning on her dark wooden chair inlaid with gold. "We discovered another planet," Kayun answered, saluting smartly. "Inhabited by drow and they have some rather... interesting creatures for sale." "Ah, welcoming?" Ten'oio inquired, her dark brown hair falling around her face and hiding her expression. "Very much so." The young vampire smiled charmingly. "Especially to rich foreigners." Ten'oio smiled. "Well, then, I think we better send an embassador over there. And if the drow like them and the creatures prove to be worthy of being bought, we can make an offer." She looked down at the roster. "Send... Helevorn." "A wolf?" Kayun asked increduly. "Yes, 'a wolf.'" She repeated. "Now, go find him and send him over to these rich-liking drow friends of ours." "I think-" The younger vampire began. "Don't hurt yourself, Kayun. You aren't paid to think." Ten'oio answered, smiling teasingly. --- "Helevorn!" Kayun yelled, catching sight of the black-tan wolf's tail. The shifter stopped and turned to face the vampire, licking his chops. "What? Make it fast, they called lunch." He snapped. "Ten'oio says you're to go to Rileikoul." The vampire said irritably. The wolf shifted to his human shape, towering over the half a foot shorter vampire. "Where?" He demanded. "Rileikoul, the main city of a bunch of friendly, cash-loving drows." Kayun explained. Helevorn stopped snarling and a slow grin spread over his face. "Cash-loving, eh?" He asked. *** Helevorn pulled his leather coat around his shoulders, the black hide hanging to his feet. His feet were enclosed in a tougher version of the black leather. His longish black-tan hair fell into his brown eyes as he faced the portal. He was too weak a mage to make one even for himself so Kayun had helped him. It seemed the vampire had been told to make sure the wolf reached Rileikoul safely. He nodded to the pallid-skinned human and walked through the portal. Instantly he was in the dark elf city and the portal closed behind him as soon as he nodded to Kayun. The drow did not even look at him even if he looked odd. Probably because there had been a recent influx of foreigners for the drakkin. He pulled his bag of belongings and bartering items closer to him, wary of thieves. Not that he could not scare them away, being a wolf-shifter and all. It was just the wolf-instincts in him to be territorial. He looked around for a direction in which to go. He saw a guard nearby - at the doors to the city - and walked up to him. "Excuse me, I'm here about the Drakkin." He said strictly. "You'll be looking for Lady Breeder Inrahi." The guard said instantly. "She is off in that direction." Helevorn thanked the guard and set off in the direction pointed out to him. He found a proud mansion that looked clearly to be the Lady Breeder's dealer. The wolf-shifter looked at the mansion critically and - remembering Ten'oio's threat - smoothed his hair. He went up to the door and knocked. A hiss sounded from inside and the wolf-shifter looked over at the window. A curly-horned, thick-hided creature was glaring at him from there. It was a dark bronze color. "So, you must be a Drakkin..." He mused aloud, looking at the hissing canine-sized thing. It spat at him and the door opened. A proud lady-drow was standing at the door, clothed in what was identical to the drakkin in the window's hide. "May I help you?" She asked haughtily. "Yes, I am here to make an offer on the Drakkin babies." Helevorn said, straightening and looking respectively at her. "Oh?" The drow asked, smiling slightly and reminding him of Ten'oio. "Buisness is to be done inside. Come." She brought him inside and the bronze Drakkin snarled. The drow quieted him and Helevorn followed her. A black Drakkin was lying in an indentation in the floor. The drow motioned to the black female. Helevorn walked up to her. She growled and the wolf-shifter kneeled down. "So you're the mother, eh?" He whispered. The black Drakkin's growls ceased and she stood reluctantly. He could count six eggs under her smooth black belly. She lay back down and the wolf smiled. "A pretty one." He said, standing and turning back to the drow. Lady Breeder Inrahi smiled. "You have passed Nys'asi's inspection, congratulations." She said. "Do you wish to see my offer?" He asked, looking down at the Drakkin again. "Yes." The drow said, motioning to a table. So, Helevorn proceeded to take out his offerings: 18 Unflawed Opal Hair Ornaments 20 Diamond Necklaces 15 Diamond and Ruby Bracelets 2900 Silver Pieces 1000 Gold Pieces Gold-Inlaid Dagger with a Sapphire in the Handle Hand-crafted Gold Rose Hand-crafted Silver Rose Bouquet Gold-Inlaid Red Fabric Silver Staff Inlaid With Gold and Rubies He watched her face earnestly, wondering if she would accept this first offer from Khila Silae Dungortheb. She nodded and touched the fabric. "Yes, this will do. Please purchase yourself a domain in the city until the young ones are ready to choose." She said, dismissing him. Helevorn went outside and found Kayun. Together they went and leased themselves a place to stay. It would be Khila Silae Dungortheb's domain in the drow city. main :: members :: drakkin :: stories |
