Interim Report for Shawn
Lajeunesse During this 10 day period, Shawn was able to achieve several
of the goals he set for the observation and transition stage of the
practicum. Shawn:
The teacher candidate is still in progress towards
fulfilling the following goals established in the observation and transition
stages of this practicum:
Alexandria Bedyn This is quite a good class, and there are not really any behavioural problems at all. The management part should be ok, though I would like to work a little more on the transitions between classes and activities; the few classes I have had have been awkward, either too long, or too confusing. I will write a little note in a corner of the board before the lesson so that the students and I know what’s coming. The librarian is quite good, and I have been able to find quite a lot of posters, videos, games, as well as books through her. None of the units will be lacking in resources at all. I have made quite a few extra resources (worksheets, posters) and, where appropriate have given them to my mentor teacher beforehand so she has a copy and can follow as we go. I am a little worried about not being able to finish the units that I have planned. I don’t think that my mentor teacher cares whether or not I finish, so long as I give her the rest of the plan, which I already have for all 3 units. As a challenge, I would like to be able to have this all planned out perfectly so that I finish – wish me luck! |
