| Marshall went to San Diego State University, due to the fact that they were the only school that would give him the opportunity to play the Running Back position. Marshall majored in Public Administration while at University. He became the first freshman in NCAA history to lead the nation in both rushing and scoring. Among his numerous college accomplishments were that he was named UPI Freshman Of The Year, named to first team Associated Press All American (third freshman in history ever to do so), and as a sophomore became the 5th player in NCAA history to record back-to-back rushing titles. As a junior, Marshall was ranked 5th in NCAA rushing and finished 4th in the 1993 Heisman Trophy balloting. Marshall decided to forgo his senior year as an Aztec to pursue a career in the National Football League. |
