The Birdy Song
These lyrics were written by erin martin. its just about life and how we dont really know the answers to all the questions in life.

i talked to a little bird today
and heard everything he had to say
i admired his intellegent
articulate way

we talked for hours about nothing and everything
and how we wished that these werent the same things
we talked about heaven and we talked about God
we talked about earth and what we think its worth

he told me how fake people laugh and real people hide
and how realness is relative no matter how hard we try

we talked about hate and we talked about war
and how thats really all you find anymore
we moved on to love and the people we trust
and others weve tried to forget, if we must

maybe we'll know the answers someday
before we all have to fly away
    maybe were all high anyway

we told of our dreams and our pleasures it seemed,
were nothing but that thing called make believe
we discussed current events and told great stories
of days we thought would bring us glory

we chatted of celebrities and all the temporarary hype
and of amazing bands like strokes and white stripes
we talked about life and we talked about death
of cowboys and indians, baseball and football teams....
i forget the rest

    chorus

we discussed politics and the lameness of john kerry
and how all this stuff makes you so weary
weary of this world weve come to know-
a world that constantly has to put on a show-

    but, whatever, i guess i don't know.
    but, whatever, i guess i don't know.

we talked about favorite bands and movies and books
and i told him how this world is solely based on looks.
he told me about the friends he made up in the sky
and he said he wished he could live here on the ground
i just asked him why?

    chorus

our discussion ended as most discussions do
with a smile and a sigh and "it was nice to meet you"
he tipped his hat to the side
and we said our goodbyes
and as he flew away i heard him say
he promised to visit again someday
