p o n d e r i n g s >>[[geek]]

g e e k

The Internet is a bit of an obsession for me. I'm not addicted; I can stop anytime I want to, honestly...yeah, right. But in addicted is a strong word.

Yes, I am a geek. Not a nerd. Fine distinction. What's more, I'm proud to be a geek...i think.

I define a geek as someone who gets excited about the potential of technology, who is passionate about the medium, who blurs the line between offline and online worlds, without ever confusing them. This definition is also used to describe Web People, and more vaguely, those who fundamentally Get It.

I used to [& I still do] carry around a little notebook full of scribbled URLs. I figured out bits and pieces of HTML as I went along, the same way others did at the time - through browsing sources and tutorials. I have experimented with many of my own websites, that I am not so proud of, but for the time, they were pretty damn good. Years from now I will look back on this website site & *shudder haha but hopefully that will not happen for a while, considering how much work & time [mostly time] I put into this site.

Actually when I do all of these writings & such, I'm not online. Because it is harder to be creative, when you are forcing yourself to think of stuff.

Actually, lately with working at the pool, I'm like never online...well at least not as much as I used to be.
