POEMS/To The One Who Listened...

TO THE ONE WHO LISTENED
July 14, 2002

In and out in the land of nod
Drifting away no sense of time
Night and day melted into one
Can't find my postassium
Somehow it slipped by me
Now my finger's on the socket
Recharging all that's lost
As the struggle to find balance,
As the struggle to climb aboard's on
My other hand's up to the heavens
Offering heart and soul
Saved once more after awhile
And five slender sticks scribble
A poem of thanks to the One who listened..

insight (July 20, 2003) I wrote this a few days after I've been released from the hospital (after a week) because of Hemorrhagic fever, Typhoid fever, Hyper-Acidity and dehydration (I was already vomitting for 2 days because of H-fever)... plus, my potassium level was way below normal. It was an awakening for me not to take my body for granted. When I was admitted in the hospital, I was so weak I wasn't even that aware that a dextrose was being attached to my hand. I never want to go through that again.. for a week, we waited everyday whether or not I'll need blood transfusion.
