POEMS/Girl Wondering...
GIRL WONDERING
Oct. 10, 2001
Inside my cluttered peach bedroom
I cleared a spot on my desk
My pen all poised to write
The paper blankly stared back
And my mind wandered around
I wonder if I'll ever find a job;
If the neighbor's dogs will ever shut up;
And if they'll ever clean after their dogs' shits
As the foul odor invaded my room, my senses;
Then I heard my mind silently scream
Behind me, my television's blaring like mad
Blocking out the unwelcome music from next door
Filling in the loud silence inside my head;
As a part of me wonder how to earn some money,
Another part wonder about their poor choice in music
Outside, the sun at last went home to rest
The dogs finally decided to settle down
And a new sound pounded on and on
As I wonder what I have written about,
As another day gone by, another poem written...
insight
An obvious result of somebody who's jobless and totally bored. I meant to write something else but the neighbor's dogs -about six of them- were barking like there's no tomorrow, for no apparent reason. On top of that, they (the owners) don't regularly clean their dogs' shits. Just my luck that my room's window's opposite their backyard where the juvenile dogs are.
