FACE TO FACE WITH FATE

I believe it was fate
when I turned around
and came face to face with you
you, who were once a part of
my long forgotten girlish daydreams

I believe it was destined
that I'd stop fighting fate
and face the emotions you've awakened;
face the truth that I've fallen
for my long forgotten hero

I believe it was fate
when I came to this place
when I met you after all these years
when I saw you smiling down tenderly
to the woman whom you've given yourself

I believe it was destined
that you'd own my heart without your knowing
that I'd move on with empty wishes
and a bittersweet knowledge
that I've learned to love

Somewhere in this vast universe
our fates had been laid eons ago
you were destined to steal my heart
I was destined to lose you
you, who were never mine to begin with


insight Believe it or not, I wrote this with Giba on my mind! Of course, I haven't been to Brazil and I haven't seen him in person. But part of it is true though. I wrote this on the day I found out through the internet that he's married (at age 23!!!) for about 2 years already. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I want to marry him or anything.
