AFTERMATH

Just below the surface simmers
Emotions a brick too short for recognition
Slowly and steadily it works its way up
A fervent rush to cross the line
That was never drawn to begin with
It exploded but everybody couldn't care less
As debris of joy scattered and lit up the sky
Finally it floated down to the ground, forgotten
Hollowness crept inside unnoticed
In the midst of all the indifference
The breeze swept by one last time
But it passed by disturbing not a soul
For all that's left in the stillness
Is a deep gaping hole

(July 20, 2003) This was one weird holiday. There was some sort of sadness that everybody tries to hide. This was the first
holiday where we weren't complete and.. there was just this "weirdness" in the air.. like, to each his own
or something. One commercial (McDonald's) reminds me so much of what's happening with my family. We're growing up..
and right now there's just me and my sis left at home with my parents and auntie.. in a couple of months,
my sis will be leaving for her board review and my aunt will accompany her. And then there were three...
