Paul Adams One of the 'Musketeers' of the team, Paul Adams has had many a batsmen in a fix! He has the most extraordinary bowling action and is hard to pick if you are facing him for the
first time. He is an attacking bowler, and thus his wickets tend to cost him a lot of runs.
I like the way he's always smiling, I'm sure it has a positive effect on the teammates too!
Allan Donald
They call him 'White Lightening' and for no minor reason. He can scare
the hell out of any batsman with his fast bowling. He has been in the
side for quite a while now and always given a 100%. He holds the
distinction of being the only SA bowler to take more than 300 test
wickets but sadly, a string of injuries have forced him to retire from
test cricket. We'll miss you AD...but we look forward to seeing you at the World Cup!
Nantie
Hayward
One of the genuine quick bowlers in the present SA squad, Hayward can be
a force to reckon with, if he can maintain his line and length at all
times. He does tend to bowl a little wayward, but when he's bowling
accurate - Gees! Isn't it a pleasure to watch! Famous for coloring his
hair 'Platinum', this redhead is sure fiery!
Andre Nel
Here is another youngster trying to cement his place in the side. He
first came to notice when a Nel delivery struck Allan Donald on the
helmet and he burst into tears for felling his boyhood hero...(well,
that's a story we can talk about later) He bowls quick and does have a
temperament to match!
Mfuneko Ngam
'Black Thunder' - that's how people address him. And he did justify
this nickname during the few series that he played. But his is a career
plagued by injuries and we can only hope he is fit to serve South Africa
for a long time to come.
Makhaya
Ntini
He has been a find for the team. I like his energy and enthusiasm on the
field. He bowls at a sharpish pace and with the troubles of the past
behind him, will surely play for a long time for South Africa.
Roger
Telemachus
Roger Telemachus has never really found a permanent place in the SA
side, the reasons being a flurry of upcoming fast bowlers recently and
also, injuries for him at the wrong time. He bowls at a lively pace and
generates movement off the wicket, but has to learn to make every
opportunity that knocks his door count.
David
Terbrugge
Very much in the 'Shaun Pollock' mould
(immaculate line, bowls close to the stumps and red hair!), David
Terbrugge has impressed one and all. I really think he's been
underbowled and should be included in more games. The only trouble spot
are the injuries, that are somehow impeccably timed with his good form!
Do something about it David!!
